A battery health of 80% means the battery can hold about 80% of the charge it held when new — and every certified pre-owned laptop we list, from the AED 749 Dell Latitude 5570 upwards, has battery health of 80% or more, measured and recorded for that individual unit.
Battery health is the single most misunderstood number on a used laptop. It is not how full the battery is right now, and it is not a runtime in hours. It is a measure of capacity: how much energy the battery can store today compared with what it was designed to store.
Here is what the number means, how to check it yourself in two minutes, and the honest limits of what we promise about it.
What the percentage actually measures
Every laptop battery has a design capacity — what it held when it left the factory — and a full charge capacity — what it holds now. Battery health is the second divided by the first. At 80%, a battery that once lasted five hours of a given workload would last roughly four hours of the same workload.
Real runtime depends far more on what you do than on that number: screen brightness, video calls and many browser tabs drain a battery much faster than writing documents. That is why we publish the health figure and not an hours figure we cannot stand behind.
How to check battery health yourself
- On Windows: open Command Prompt, type
powercfg /batteryreportand press Enter. Open the HTML report it saves and compare Full Charge Capacity with Design Capacity. - On a Mac: open System Settings, then Battery, then the information button next to Battery Health. Older macOS versions show the cycle count under System Information, Power.
We encourage every buyer to run this check when the laptop arrives. If the figure is below 80%, tell us within your 14-day return window.
Why the battery is not under warranty — and how to make it last
Batteries are consumable parts: every one loses capacity with each charge cycle and with heat. That is why our 12-month NewAsNew Assured warranty covers hardware defects but excludes the battery and the charger. We would rather say that plainly than bury it.
UAE heat is hard on batteries. Avoid leaving a laptop in a parked car, use it on a hard surface so the vents can breathe, and avoid keeping it at 100% on the charger all day where the settings allow a charge limit. Our guide to extending your laptop’s life has more.

The short version: 80% is a sensible floor for a used business laptop. It gives you real unplugged time for meetings and commutes, and it is measured, not estimated, on every unit we list. Check it yourself on arrival — we would rather you verify than trust.
The honest limits, before you buy
We would rather you read this now than discover it later.
- The battery and the charger are not covered by the warranty. The 12-month NewAsNew Assured warranty covers hardware defects. Batteries are consumable parts and we do not pretend otherwise. Every unit is listed with measured battery health of 80% or more.
- We are online-only. There is no showroom to visit and no counter to walk into. That is how our prices stay where they are.
- Prepaid only, no secure online payment. Every order is paid before it ships.
- These are certified pre-owned machines, not new ones. Each passes a 50-point inspection (what we check) and ships with an original-brand charger, but cosmetic condition is Grade A, not factory-sealed.
- 14 days to change your mind. Unused, undamaged and complete, with free pickup — the conditions are on the returns page.
- Memory and storage vary between units. Our catalogue lists the processor; the exact build is on each product page. Ask us if it matters to you.

Frequently asked questions
Is 80% battery health good for a used laptop?
It is a reasonable floor. It means roughly 80% of the original capacity remains, which is enough for meetings, study sessions and commuting. It is not a new battery, and we do not describe it as one.
Will the battery health drop quickly after I buy it?
Batteries lose capacity gradually with charge cycles and heat. Keeping the laptop out of hot cars and off soft surfaces, and not leaving it at 100% for long periods, slows that down.
Why is the battery not covered by your warranty?
Because every battery wears out with use, regardless of quality. The 12-month warranty covers hardware defects; the battery and charger are excluded, as stated on our warranty page.
What if my laptop arrives below 80%?
Run the battery report as described above and message us on WhatsApp at +971 56 377 7421 within 14 days of delivery. The returns page sets out the return conditions.
Do you test battery health on every laptop?
Yes. Battery health is measured and recorded for every unit before it is listed, alongside our 50-point inspection. See what we check.
