The HP EliteBook 840 G8, Core i5 11th Gen is AED 1,399 at NewAsNew, and the Core i7 version, the HP EliteBook 840 G8, Core i7 11th Gen, is AED 1,699. It is a 14-inch business laptop with an 11th-generation Intel processor, and it is the unit we point most office buyers at when they do not have a specialist requirement.
Why the 840 line is the default recommendation
HP’s EliteBook 840 is the 14-inch middle of the range: the 830 is the 13.3-inch version and the 850 is the 15.6-inch version. The 840 sits where most people actually want to be — a screen big enough to work on all day and a chassis small enough to carry. Combined with an 11th-generation processor, that makes the G8 a machine with no obvious weakness for ordinary work: documents, spreadsheets, browsers with too many tabs, and video calls.
As with every unit here, it has been through the 50-point check and its battery health was measured before listing.

Look at the first two rows again. The EliteBook 840 G7 has a Core i7 processor and costs AED 1,299 — one hundred dirhams less than the 840 G8 with a Core i5. You are choosing between a newer generation and a higher processor tier at almost the same money.
Our honest guidance: for ordinary office work, take the newer generation — the G8’s 11th-generation platform will be supported longer and handles video calls better. Take the G7 Core i7 only if you run something that genuinely uses more processor cores, and read our Core i5 vs Core i7 piece before you decide, because for most office tasks the difference is smaller than the badge suggests.
Who should buy it
- Office and hybrid workers who want one machine for the desk and the commute.
- Anyone on a lot of video calls. The 11th-generation platform handles them more comfortably than the 8th-generation units in our under-AED-1,000 band.
- Buyers who want HP specifically — keyboard feel and service parts are the usual reasons people stay with one brand.
- Small teams. We have both the Core i5 and Core i7 builds, which makes matching a mixed team easier. Ask through our B2B page.
Who should not
- Anyone who needs a number pad or a big screen. The EliteBook 850 G7 at AED 1,599 or the Latitude 5520 at AED 1,149.
- Anyone doing CAD, rendering or heavy video. You want dedicated graphics: the Precision 5550 at AED 1,949.
- Anyone who mainly needs a cheap, reliable office machine. The Latitude 5400 at AED 899 will do the same emails.
What we will not claim
- No battery percentage in this article. It is measured per unit and it is not covered by the warranty. Ask for the figure on the exact unit.
- No weight figure. Our listings do not carry a verified weight for every EliteBook, so we will not print one. Ask us and we will weigh the unit if it matters to you.
- No RAM or storage figure. The 840 G8 sells in several builds at different prices. The product page is the only honest source.
The honest limits, before you buy
- The 12-month NewAsNew Assured warranty covers hardware faults. The battery and the charger are not covered — a used battery is a wear item, and we will not pretend otherwise.
- We are online only. There is no showroom in Dubai or Sharjah to walk into.
- Prepaid only. Card or bank transfer. There is no secure online payment.
- 14 days to return from delivery, with free pickup anywhere in the UAE.
