The Dell Latitude 5520, Core i5 11th Gen is AED 1,149 at NewAsNew, and it is the cheapest 11th-generation Intel laptop we stock in a 15.6-inch body. That one sentence is most of the review: if you want a recent processor and a full-size screen and keyboard for desk work, this is the unit in our catalogue that does it for the least money.
What you are actually getting
The Latitude 5500 series is Dell’s mainstream 15.6-inch business line — the machine companies buy by the hundred for staff who work at a desk. The 5520 is the 11th-generation refresh of that line. Compared with the older 8th-generation 15-inch units we also sell, the practical gains are a newer integrated graphics engine, better video-call performance, and more years before software stops supporting the processor generation.
Every unit we list has been through our 50-point check before it goes on sale, and the battery health is measured as part of that.
Where it sits against the rest of our stock
| Laptop | Price from | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Dell Latitude 5590, Core i5 8th Gen | AED 949 | Cheaper 15.6-inch, but 8th-generation |

| Dell Latitude 5410, Core i5 10th Gen | AED 1,099 | 14-inch, 10th-generation, between the two |
| Dell Latitude 5520, Core i5 11th Gen | AED 1,149 | The pick here: 11th-gen in 15.6 inches |
| HP EliteBook 840 G8, Core i5 11th Gen | AED 1,399 | HP’s 14-inch 11th-gen equivalent |

The comparison that matters most is the Latitude 5420 at AED 1,049. It has the same 11th-generation Core i5 generation in a 14-inch chassis for AED 100 less. If you carry your laptop, buy the 5420. The 5520 earns its extra AED 100 only if the bigger screen and the number pad are worth more to you than portability.
Who should buy it
- Desk workers who want a big screen. Spreadsheets, long documents, two windows side by side on one panel.
- Anyone who uses a number pad daily. Accounts, data entry, stock counts. The 14-inch machines do not have one.
- Buyers who want the newest processor generation we stock for the least money.
- Small offices buying several matching units. Ask us on WhatsApp or through our B2B page about multiple units.
Who should not
- Anyone who commutes with it. Buy the 5420 or the Latitude 7400 instead.
- Anyone doing CAD, 3D or heavy video work. This is integrated graphics. You want the Precision 5550 at AED 1,949 or the Precision 3551 at AED 2,149.
- Anyone on a strict budget. The Latitude 5590 is AED 949 and does ordinary office work perfectly well.
What we will not claim about it
Three things, because a review that only praises is an advert.
- We will not quote you a battery figure here. Battery health is measured per unit, and a used battery is a wear item that the warranty does not cover. Ask us for the measured figure on the exact unit before you pay.
- We will not promise a backlit keyboard. Our own listing records the keyboard as varying between units. If a backlight matters, ask us to confirm it on the unit you are buying.
- We will not give you a RAM or storage figure in this article. The 5520 is sold in several builds and the price rises with them. The product page is the only honest source for that.
The honest limits, before you buy
- The 12-month NewAsNew Assured warranty covers hardware faults. The battery and the charger are not covered — a used battery is a wear item, and we will not pretend otherwise.
- We are online only. There is no showroom in Dubai or Sharjah to walk into.
- Prepaid only. Card or bank transfer. There is no secure online payment.
- 14 days to return from delivery, with free pickup anywhere in the UAE.
- RAM and storage vary by unit. The listed price is the lowest build; the product page shows what each configuration costs.
