For UAE freelancers who edit photos, cut video or run design work, the cheapest machine we would honestly put in front of you is the AED 1,599 HP EliteBook 850 G7, and the cheapest one with dedicated graphics is the AED 1,649 MacBook Pro 16-inch A2141 — which, at that price, is the single best value in our catalogue for creative work.
Freelancing in the UAE means your laptop is the business. There is no IT department, no spare machine in a cupboard, and a failed export at 2am before a client deadline is your problem alone. That changes what you should buy: not the fastest thing you can afford, but the most dependable thing that clears your actual workload with room spare.
It also means the honest answer varies enormously by what you actually do. A freelance copywriter, a social media manager and a video editor have almost nothing in common in hardware terms, and guides that lump them together are not helping anyone.
Match the machine to the work, not to the job title
- Writing, social media, client comms, light Canva and Figma. You do not need dedicated graphics. The HP EliteBook 850 G7 at AED 1,599 gives you a 15.6-inch screen and a 10th-generation Core i7 — more than enough, and the large screen is the part you will actually feel.
- Photo editing, Lightroom, heavy Photoshop. This is memory and screen quality work more than graphics work. The MacBook Pro 16-inch A2141 at AED 1,649 is listed with 16GB of memory and a 512GB SSD and carries Radeon Pro 5300M graphics with 4GB — at that price it is difficult to argue with.
- Video editing and motion work. Here dedicated graphics and memory bandwidth genuinely matter. The Dell Precision 5550 at AED 1,949 is a mobile workstation with 4GB of dedicated graphics. The MacBook Pro 16-inch M1 Pro at AED 3,699 is a different class again, and if you export video daily for paying clients it will pay for itself in time saved.
- 3D, heavy rendering. The requirements overlap more with CAD than with content work — start from our laptops with dedicated graphics and message us about your specific software.
One honest note on the Precision: our product pages specify 4GB of dedicated graphics but do not name the exact GPU, because the chip can vary between units. We will not invent a model number. Message us on WhatsApp and we will check the specific machine before it ships.
The MacBook question
If your clients send you Final Cut projects, or you live in the Apple ecosystem, the decision is already made. If you are genuinely open, the comparison is between the AED 1,649 Intel MacBook Pro and the AED 3,699 M1 Pro. The gap is real: Apple Silicon transformed export times and battery behaviour, and no Intel MacBook closes that distance. But AED 2,050 is a lot of money for a freelancer, and the Intel machine is an excellent photo and design laptop.
Our MacBook versus Windows business laptop guide works through the trade-off in full, and the MacBook buying guide covers condition grades.

The honest limits, before you buy
We would rather you read this now than discover it later.
- The battery and the charger are not covered by the warranty. The 12-month NewAsNew Assured warranty covers hardware defects. Batteries are consumable parts and we do not pretend otherwise. Every unit is listed with measured battery health of 80% or more.
- We are online-only. There is no showroom to visit and no counter to walk into. That is how our prices stay where they are.
- Prepaid only, no secure online payment. Every order is paid before it ships.
- These are certified pre-owned machines, not new ones. Each passes a 50-point inspection (what we check) and ships with an original-brand charger, but cosmetic condition is Grade A, not factory-sealed.
- 14 days to change your mind. Unused, undamaged and complete, with free pickup — the conditions are on the returns page.
- Memory and storage vary between units. Our catalogue lists the processor; the exact build is on each product page. Ask us if it matters to you.

Frequently asked questions
Is a certified pre-owned laptop a sensible risk when it is my only work machine?
It is a real question and it deserves a real answer. Every unit passes a 50-point inspection, carries a 12-month warranty on hardware defects, and can be returned within 14 days. What we cannot offer is a replacement machine the same day if yours fails, because we are an online store, not a service counter. If your work cannot survive two days without a laptop, budget for that risk whatever you buy and wherever you buy it.
Does the MacBook Pro A2141 come with a charger?
Yes. Every unit ships with an original-brand charger. The charger and the battery are the two things the 12-month warranty does not cover, which is why we say it plainly on every page rather than hiding it in terms.
Will the M1 Pro MacBook run Adobe apps natively?
Adobe’s current Creative Cloud applications run natively on Apple Silicon. Specific third-party plugins vary, so check your own plugin list against the developer’s compatibility notes before you switch — that is a software question we cannot answer for your particular setup.
Can I invoice this as a business expense as a UAE freelancer?
You will receive an invoice from Greenheart International Trading FZE LLC with the order. Whether it is deductible against your freelance licence is a question for your accountant, not for us.
What if I order and the screen quality is not good enough for my colour work?
Return it within 14 days of delivery, unused and complete, for a full refund with free pickup. Colour-critical work is exactly the case where we would rather you test the machine and send it back than keep something that does not suit you. The returns page has the full conditions.
