Between AED 1,500 and AED 2,000 you stop buying a faster office laptop and start buying a specific kind of machine — a touchscreen 2-in-1 from AED 1,549, a 16-inch MacBook Pro with dedicated graphics at AED 1,649, or a Dell Precision workstation from AED 1,949.
If what you need is a dependable office laptop, you do not need to be in this band at all — our AED 1,000–1,500 guide covers that. This band is for people who know they need something particular: a pen and touchscreen, a large screen, macOS, or graphics power.
That makes the honest question here not “which is fastest?” but “which of these four kinds of machine is mine?”
The four kinds of laptop in this band
- Touchscreen 2-in-1s, AED 1,549–1,599. The Dell Latitude 5320 2-in-1 (from AED 1,549) and Latitude 7420 2-in-1 (from AED 1,599) are 11th-generation convertibles; the Latitude 5310 2-in-1 (from AED 1,599) is 10th generation. For note-taking, presenting and signing documents.
- Big-screen Windows, AED 1,599–1,799. The HP EliteBook 850 G7 (15.6-inch, Core i7) at AED 1,599. The Dell Latitude 5421 at AED 1,799 carries an 11th-generation Core i7 H-Series chip — a higher-power processor than the usual thin-laptop parts — with a touchscreen.
- Apple, AED 1,649. The MacBook Pro 16-inch A2141 is listed with a Core i7, 16GB of memory, a 512GB SSD and Radeon Pro 5300M graphics with 4GB. For anyone who wants macOS on a large screen, it is the standout value in this band.
- Workstation, from AED 1,949. The Dell Precision 5550 is a mobile workstation with 4GB of dedicated graphics, for CAD, 3D and video work. Our product page does not name the exact graphics chip, because it can vary between units — ask us and we will check the specific machine.
Where people overspend
The most common mistake in this band is buying a Core i7 or a workstation for office work. The HP EliteBook 840 G8 Core i7 at AED 1,699 is an excellent machine, but for documents, email and video calls it will not feel faster than the 11th-generation Core i5 version of the same laptop, which costs less.
If you are weighing up Apple against Windows, our MacBook versus Windows business laptop guide goes through it in detail.

The honest limits, before you buy
We would rather you read this now than discover it later.
- The battery and the charger are not covered by the warranty. The 12-month NewAsNew Assured warranty covers hardware defects. Batteries are consumable parts and we do not pretend otherwise. Every unit is listed with measured battery health of 80% or more.
- We are online-only. There is no showroom to visit and no counter to walk into. That is how our prices stay where they are.
- Prepaid only, no secure online payment. Every order is paid before it ships.
- These are certified pre-owned machines, not new ones. Each passes a 50-point inspection (what we check) and ships with an original-brand charger, but cosmetic condition is Grade A, not factory-sealed.
- 14 days to change your mind. Unused, undamaged and complete, with free pickup — the conditions are on the returns page.
- Memory and storage vary between units. Our catalogue lists the processor; the exact build is on each product page. Ask us if it matters to you.
