Short answer: AED 1,500 buys a genuinely good business laptop in the UAE if you buy certified pre-owned instead of new. At the time of writing we have 16 Grade A Certified machines under that figure, starting at AED 749. New, the same budget gets you an entry-level consumer laptop with a plastic chassis, a slower drive and a screen you will notice.

What AED 1,500 actually gets you

This is the budget where the pre-owned market pulls away from the new one, and the reason is what the machines were built for. A Dell Latitude or HP EliteBook was sold to a company, not a consumer. It has a magnesium or aluminium chassis, a keyboard rated for millions of keystrokes, a serviceable battery, and a three-year on-site warranty the original buyer paid for. It was built to survive four years of daily use in an office.

A new AED 1,500 laptop is built to hit a price. Both are honest machines; they were designed to do different jobs.

How to choose between them

If your budget is AED 750 to 900

Take the 8th generation over the 6th if you can stretch to AED 899. The gap between a 6th-gen and an 8th-gen Core i5 is larger than the AED 150 suggests: the 8th generation doubled the core count from two to four, which is the single biggest jump Intel made in that period. It is the difference between a machine that struggles with fifteen browser tabs and one that does not notice them.

If your budget is AED 900 to 1,200

This is the sweet spot. A Latitude 5410 or 5420 will not feel old to you. Choose 14-inch if you carry it, 15-inch if it lives on a desk.

If your budget is AED 1,200 to 1,500

The HP EliteBook 840 G7 at AED 1,299 is the most machine for the money on this list — a 10th-generation Core i7 in an aluminium body. If you want the newest generation instead of the fastest processor, the 840 G8 at AED 1,399 is 11th gen.

What to check before you pay — anywhere, not just here

  • Battery health as a number. Not “good battery”. A percentage. If the seller will not give you one, they have not measured it.
  • Photographs of the actual unit. Stock photos hide the machine you are being sold.
  • A written warranty with a claim process. “Warranty” on its own is not a warranty. Ask what happens on day 40.
  • A invoice in the seller’s registered company name. Without it you have no consumer protection worth using.
  • The Windows licence position. A business laptop should carry a genuine, activated licence. Ask.

Frequently asked questions

Is AED 1,500 enough for a good laptop in the UAE?

For a new laptop, it buys the bottom of the range. For a certified pre-owned business laptop, it buys a Core i5 or i7 with an SSD, a Full HD IPS screen and a metal chassis. The pre-owned machine will be faster and better built for the same money.

How old are these laptops?

The machines on this list are 8th to 11th generation Intel, which corresponds roughly to 2018 through 2021 models. Age matters less than generation and condition: an 11th-generation i5 with a healthy battery will outlast a badly treated newer machine.

What is the difference between refurbished and Grade A Certified?

“Refurbished” is not a regulated term and any seller can use it. Grade A Certified is our own grade and it means something specific: the machine passed all 50 points on our written inspection, it has no visible damage, its battery health was measured and recorded, and it carries a 12-month warranty. The full 50-point checklist is published here.

Do these come with a warranty in the UAE?

Every Grade A Certified laptop carries a 12-month NewAsNew Assured warranty, honoured in the UAE and in India. If you buy in Dubai and spend a month in Delhi, a claim is still ours to answer.

Can I get a laptop under AED 750?

Not from us at present. We would rather list nothing at that price than list a machine that fails our inspection. If your ceiling is AED 600, tell us on WhatsApp and we will tell you honestly when something suitable arrives — or that it will not.

Is it safe to buy a used laptop online in the UAE?

It is as safe as the seller’s willingness to be specific. A seller who publishes the battery percentage, photographs the actual unit, gives you a written warranty and issues a proper invoice is taking on risk that a bad seller will not. Judge on those four things rather than on reviews.
